    AGM Events

    1. Review of past season - Reports on the past productions and financial status of the Peninsula Players

    2. Election of Peninsula Players Executive - The Peninsula Players are a volunteer driven organization, and we're looking for folks who are excited about Community Theatre.  If you'd like to make a great organization even better, consider joining the Peninsula Players Executive.

    3. 2011-2012 Season to be announced - Directors Sid Clarke, Allan Haynes and Matt Watson will give the membership an overview of their upcoming productions, dates, casting and stage crew requirements.  This will be a great opporunity to decide which show (or shows!) you'll want to join.

    4. "Gone With The Wine" Preview - Rehearsals are well underway for 'Gone With The Wine', a co-Production between The Peninsula Players and The Muse Winery.  At the AGM, the cast will treat the membership to a sample of the outdoor show.

    5. Free BBQ - Stick around for the free BBQ too! Of course, feel free to bring a dish or appie if you like, but we'll provide the Burgers, Hotdogs (cooked up by world famous Grill Master, Clem Tisserand) and soft drinks. We might even warm up some musical instruments!

    6. 'Fee Free' Membership drive - This year, in anticipation of our 60th Anniversary, we're waiving all membership fees for the next season.  Get signed up, tell us what you want to do, and we'll get you onstage or backstage.  Of course, you can skip the line by joining the Peninsula Players using our online form at http://peninsulaplayers.bc.ca/membership/

We'll email you an event invitation this week, please respond to let us know if you can come!

    "The Hostage"

Well, it's over...the Gaels, Republicans and 'Scruffy Lumpers' have faded back into the pages of 'The Hostage', and the cast has entered rehab.

In case you missed it, here's the PowerPoint slide hitting the key points:

    a) Many a mickle makes a muckle.

    b) Whatever you do, don't muck about with the Moon.

    c) Anglo-Irishman = Protestant with Horse.  (I know, I still don't get it!)

    d) Rio Rita did his bit on O'Connell Street

    e) The loss of liberty is a terrible thing

    f) A girl of 18 knows more than a boy of 18

    g) Focail, Focaileile uait!!

    h) Never throw stones at your mother. Throw bricks at your father instead! (Uh, welll...you kinda had to be there....)

    i) You can't do what you like with us, don't ya know!

    j) There's no place on Earth like the World

The consensus among the cast was 'The Hostage' was a blast to present!  We should ask Dick Mells to do it again in about 10 years, and introduce it to a whole new cast and audience.

Watch the cast videos on the Peninsula Players YouTube page, and a viewing party for 'The Hostage' will be held in the near future.  If you're subscribed to our Newsletter, you'll hear about it!

    "The Unexpected Guest"

Auditions for 'The Unexpected Guest' will be held in July.  Cast requirements, Audition and Performance dates will be announced at the AGM.

    Audition Notice!

Our friends at Four Seasons Musical Theatre Society are producing this first and most famous story of...

"The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe”

This will be a full length musical.

Auditions will be held at the Isabelle Reader Theatre at Spencer Middle School at 1026 Goldstream Avenue in Langford (map) between 12:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Sunday, June 26th.

It would be preferable (but not absolutely necessary) if you come prepared with a musical theatre number to sing and have a short monologue.  Be prepared to do a cold reading and some basic choreography.  Dress comfortably!  And no scents.

Please RSVP to info@fourseasonsmusicaltheatre.com as soon as possible to reserve audition time.
